The Commissioner of Official Languages is granted intervener status in the Hôpital Montfort case before the Ontario Court of Appeal
The Commissioner of Official Languages, Dr. Dyane Adam, has been granted intervener status in the appeal brought by the Attorney General of Ontario in the case of Gisèle Lalonde, Michelle de Courville Nicol and Hôpital Montfort and Health Services Restructuring Commission.
The motion filed in the Ontario Court of Appeal this week states that this appeal raises important questions as to the scope and applicability of constitutional principles and language rights.
The Commissioner will file a factum in this case in mid-January 2001.
