Atlantic regional office: Commissioner of Official Languages’ new representative

The Commissioner of Official Languages, Dr. Dyane Adam, is proud to announce the appointment of Claude Haché as her new representative in the Atlantic office.

Mr. Haché has been working with the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages for more than 20 years. He first worked at the Atlantic regional office as an investigator and liaison officer. In 2002, he joined the office’s headquarters in Ottawa, as Assistant Director of investigations and follow-ups. "Mr. Haché is familiar with the issues affecting the region and will continue the excellent work of his predecessor, Jeanne Renault," said the Commissioner.

The Commissioner also wishes to acknowledge the work of Ms. Renault, who had been with the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages since 1979: "She made a significant contribution to official language communities in the Atlantic region and I thank her for it."

The role of the representative includes developing a dialogue with the institutions subject to the Official Languages Act and the organizations that play a key role in the growth of the Atlantic region’s official language communities. The representative also works with federal institutions, provincial, territorial and municipal government representatives, majority and minority language community organizations and the public.
